Data Insights Specialist

The role of a Data Analyst in the Target Seats Unit involves leveraging diverse data to conduct analysis and create data products that inform decision-making and drive effective campaigning.
This position sits within the Target Seats Unit, reporting directly to the Assistant National Secretary (Director Target Seats Unit) and collaborating closely with the Data and Research Manager, Technical Organiser, and Deputy Director of IT to deliver the Target Seats Unit's CRM, technical, and data objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transforming complex data into actionable advice for stakeholders
- Conducting analysis of voting behaviour and demographic trends
- Developing data visualisations and dashboards to track campaign progress
- Standardising data from diverse sources
- Assisting with implementation of targeting and modelling
- Providing data-driven insights to offices and campaigns
About You:
- Essential skills include experience working with relational databases and SQL query language, programming experience in R or Python, data visualisation skills, and ability to explain technical concepts to various stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and autonomous working skills are also required, along with a commitment to the values of the organisation
About the Role:
- This is a full-time fixed-term appointment based in Canberra, with options to be based in Sydney or Melbourne considered for the right applicant
- Relocation assistance may be available to support interstate relocation to Canberra
