Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Dams/Civil to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will work on diverse projects including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro and utilities works (transmission and distribution substations, switchyards and lines) for a broad range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate work of more junior team members
  • Provide technical support and maintain relationships with existing clients
  • Act as the Technical Lead for connection application studies, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, model overlays and model validation in PSSE and PSCAD
  • Project management of smaller projects
Requirements
  • 12-15 years' experience in the energy sector
  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering, science or hydrology
  • Strong experience with Australian hydrological and hydraulic practices
  • Strong hydrologic modelling and flood forecasting skills
  • Strong programming skills (preferably in R or Python)
  • Advanced statistical skills related to design flood hydrology
  • Analysis of impacts of climate change and climate variability on water availability
  • Use of semi-distributed or lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff models
  • Familiar with model calibration approaches
