Plant Operations Manager

Knauf, a leading manufacturer of insulation materials and building products, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to join its Senior Management team in Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Plasterboard and Compounds Manufacturing facilities, leading and developing the Manufacturing teams to achieve world-class performance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) within the manufacturing site, including developing and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.
- Develop and implement annual budgets to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Drive the implementation of continuous improvement principles and programs to achieve a world-class operation standard.
- Implement Knauf's environmental management policy, focusing on waste reduction and energy management.
- Achieve the plants' budgeted performance efficiencies as a minimum requirement.
- Optimize process and equipment to reduce energy and raw materials consumption, ensuring quality targets are met.
- Ensure internal and external customers receive quality products that meet their needs, improving and developing relations with all customer groups.
- Degree in Engineering highly beneficial.
- At least 10 years of management experience in a similar role, particularly in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to work with a unionized workforce and foster collaborative working relationships.
- Excellent experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and root cause analysis.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Office required, with SAP an advantage.
- Ability to mentor, develop, and coach team members, maintaining performance and personal growth while working together as a team.
