Scientific Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at The University of Queensland. As the Scientific Project Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the successful delivery of key initiatives within our National Imaging Facility.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget.
- Provide specialist advice and support to project teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery of project priorities and outcomes.
- Conduct research and analysis to prepare project briefs and develop fit-for-purpose project documentation to support informed decision-making and planning.
- Coordinate project communication and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to support project delivery and engagement activities.
- Monitor and report on project plans, milestones, and deliverables; identify, control, and manage issues, risks, dependencies, and changes in project scope.
The National Imaging Facility (NIF) is Australia's advanced imaging network. We provide a full suite of advanced imaging capability, including preclinical and clinical, human and animal imaging, radiochemistry, and imaging data analysis. Our expertise, equipment, and services are critical to Australia's ability to translate health discoveries, undertake clinical trials, and commercialize medical products.
About You- Proven track record in managing medium to large projects within complex organisational contexts, preferably in tertiary or research institutions.
- Excellent liaison and negotiation skills to build and maintain strong relationships within various university departments and the broader community.
- Strong proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to develop and implement effective project monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
