Senior Legal Advisor

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Legal Advisor to join our legal team. This role will provide legal advice and support to our business units, senior leaders, and executives on a broad variety of legal issues.


Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the business as a trusted legal advisor to support strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and regulated environment.
  • Assist with overall legal needs for major projects and transactions, including regulatory changes and responses to identified risk exposures.
  • Support tenders, procurement, and technology in the financial services sector, with understanding of prudential standards CPS234 and CPS230.
  • Work with a team in a culture based on trust and mutual respect, delivering impactful legal guidance.

Requirements
  • A legal qualification and admission to practice in Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Banking and Financial Services sector (private practice or in-house).
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior executives and business partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex legislation and to plan and implement policy and risk management strategies considering regulatory changes.
