Bendigo, Victoria, Australia Bendigo Bank Full time $70,000 - $120,000 per year

We've never been 'just a bank'. Just like you should never be 'just an employee'. We're united in our belief that inbanking, better can be bigger, and together we're making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

Bendigo Bank exists to feed into the prosperity of our customers and community. We know that as a bank we will only be successful if we focus first on the success of our customers, our people, communities, partners, suppliers, and shareholders.

Our Group Legal division provides legal advice and support to the Bank's business units, senior leaders, and executives on a broad variety of legal issues. We are looking for an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to join the team full time or part time 4 days per week.

You'll be part of a team whose culture is based on trust and mutual respect, who work collaboratively and independently. The work you do will be impactful and your expertise will be valued by the business.

This role can be based in Adelaide, Bendigo, Melbourne or Sydney. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.

  • Highly developed relationship skills, able to build trust and confidence with senior executives and business partners
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong technical analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex legislation and to plan and implement policy and risk management strategies considering legislative and regulatory changes

  • Want big impact that matters? Here, you'll know your work directly benefits the customers and communities we all serve.
  • Want to be more than just a number? Join a team that truly values you - and that gets more and more diverse every day.
  • Want career opportunity AND flexibility? Achieve both here, where we know that balance and progression go hand in hand.

You'll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:

  • Hybrid work? Flexible hours? A compressed work week? Our flexible work options are designed to suit your life.
  • Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, private health insurance options, and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family members.
