Job Description

Job Title: Learning Support Teacher

Job Summary:

The Catholic Schools Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team. As a Learning Support Teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the support and accommodations they require to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the identification of students with special educational needs and collaborate with parents, colleagues, and external providers to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and provide additional support to students as needed, in collaboration with classroom teachers and other support staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of inclusive learning environments that promote social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver professional learning opportunities that enhance the skills and knowledge of teachers and support staff in special education.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures related to special education and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and documentation related to student progress and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher and postgraduate qualifications in Special Education and/or extensive special education experience.
  • Active NESA Accreditation.
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training.
  • Completion of CPR training.
