Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Develop and implement advocacy strategies to raise awareness of policy propositions and maximize adoption.
  • Maintain Expertise: Stay up-to-date with key issues, developments, trends, and expertise in relevant policy areas.
  • Provide High-Quality Advice: Offer expert advice in advocacy and government relations, including development of key messages and policy.
  • Undertake Research and Analysis: Conduct policy research and analysis, including preparation of written reports and briefing papers.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with State MND Associations and external parties to ensure consistent messaging and information.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in advocacy, policy, and issues management, particularly in the health, aged care, disability, and research areas.
  • Knowledge of Federal Processes: Understanding of Federal Government processes, including policy development.
  • Contemporary Issues Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of contemporary federal issues, such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme and aged care system reform.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with demonstrated experience fostering relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communication and Project Management Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and project management skills.
  • Collaboration and Integrity: Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and stakeholders, with a high degree of integrity and professional ethics.

This is a full-time or part-time position based in Canberra. The role will work closely with senior executives and stakeholders to achieve results.
