About the Role

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and manage policies, programs, and initiatives that align with the department's strategic goals.
  • Develop high-quality policy products, including timely and considered advice on a range of issues.
  • Represent the department in meetings with stakeholders and negotiate to resolve competing positions or conflicts.
  • Manage and mentor team members to ensure seamless execution of tasks and projects.
Requirements

  • Strong problem identification, conceptual, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Commonwealth-state-territory relations and cross-jurisdictional policy development.
  • Understanding of the national biosecurity system and ability to represent the department.
  • Experience in running a secretariat/secretariat administration and communication/stakeholder engagement skills.
