Home Care Support Worker Job Description

As a skilled home care support worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, well-being, and independence within their own homes.

The role requires regular travel to clients' homes using your own car, for which you'll be paid a competitive rate plus paid travel time.

Support work may include:

  • Providing personal care - assisting with showering and dressing
  • Helping around the home - meal preparation and light house cleaning
  • Providing transportation to appointments and assisting with shopping
  • Assisting with medication management

You will need to undergo a Police Check, a Functional assessment, and provide two professional references.

Ongoing training provided; no prior experience necessary.

Secure employment on a flexible roster for planning ahead.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to clients in their own homes

• Assist with household tasks and meal preparation

• Transport clients to appointments and assist with shopping

• Assist with medication management and other daily tasks

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• Valid Driver's Licence and access to an insured, reliable car (minimum Third Party Property Insurance)

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (ideal but not essential)

• Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

• Flexibility to meet the changing needs of clients

Desirable Languages

• Italian, Arabic, Spanish, or Mandarin speaking candidates are encouraged to apply

As a compassionate and patient individual, you can build strong relationships with clients and their families. You may have previous experience in aged or community care or are looking to start your career in aged care.
