
Mental Health Recovery Advocate

As a Peer Support Worker, you will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.

The role requires experience working in acute mental health services, a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (consumer), and a degree in a relevant field for payment at graduate rate.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential, including advanced listening skills and the ability to build trust and rapport.
This position is a temporary one, with the successful candidate assisting mental health consumers transition from acute inpatient to community care, facilitating hope in recovery and empowerment using a strength-based approach.
About the Role:
- Assist consumers in transitioning from acute inpatient to community care
- Facilitate hope in recovery and empowerment using a strengths-based approach
- Provide support to consumers drawing on the CHIME framework
- Work alongside consumers and clinical teams to implement recovery goals
- Consult with nursing and clinical staff on consumer issues and advocate for recovery goals
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Able to work in acute mental health services
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (consumer)
- Relevant degree for payment at graduate rate
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Unrestricted NSW drivers licence
