As a Peer Support Worker, you will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.

This position is a temporary one, with the successful candidate assisting mental health consumers transition from acute inpatient to community care, facilitating hope in recovery and empowerment using a strength-based approach.

About the Role:

  • Assist consumers in transitioning from acute inpatient to community care
  • Facilitate hope in recovery and empowerment using a strengths-based approach
  • Provide support to consumers drawing on the CHIME framework
  • Work alongside consumers and clinical teams to implement recovery goals
  • Consult with nursing and clinical staff on consumer issues and advocate for recovery goals

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to work in acute mental health services
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (consumer)
  • Relevant degree for payment at graduate rate
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Unrestricted NSW drivers licence
