Mental Health Recovery Specialist

Recovery support workers play a vital role in helping individuals with mental health challenges achieve independence and purposeful coping.
They facilitate groups and support individuals to learn new skills, while working collaboratively with other team members to ensure effective team operation.
The focus is on assisting people with mental health support needs on their journey towards recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Assist individuals with mental health support needs.
- Facilitate groups and provide individual support.
- Collaborate with team members for effective team operation.
Some key tasks include:
- Supporting individuals with daily tasks.
- Encouraging participation in social activities.
- Developing and implementing programs to support recovery.
- Minimum Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (e.g. mental health, peer work, disability).
- Understanding of the recovery-based approach.
- Knowledge of local services and the NSW mental health system.
