About the Role

Datacom is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our End User Services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional technical support in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Assist new users with IT hardware collection and setup, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Ensure new equipment is up-to-date and deployment-ready prior to release to customers.
  • Record all customer contacts in our ITSM tool, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Communicate progress updates to customers, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Utilize tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Proactively manage and maintain customer infrastructure as directed.
  • Identify opportunities for service and process improvement, driving positive change within the team.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional customer experience skills, with a focus on end-user services.
  • The ability to prioritize work to ensure achievement of all service level agreements.
  • Sound knowledge of laptops, desktop PCs, printers, media, and audio-visual equipment, BYOD, and mobility.

Nice to Have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information to the target audience.
  • Professional customer service skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
