Job Opportunity

This position presents a compelling chance to work as a Research Associate in the Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute at the University of Sydney.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support investigators and stakeholders in conducting a sexual and reproductive health needs assessment of temporary migrants to Australia.
  • Conduct and analyze health service process maps, semi-structured interviews, and/or focus group discussions among PALM workers, PALM employers, and health workers.
  • Assist with promoting quantitative surveys and ensure that data collection is conducted in a culturally safe and sensitive manner.
  • Identify acute health concerns or distress among PALM workers or other participants and arrange timely referral and clinical assessment via designated pathways.
  • Analyze data using suitable qualitative software and contribute to drafting project reports and manuscripts for publication.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in infectious diseases/sexual and reproductive health/public health/related field and sound experience in qualitative research methods.

Essential Qualifications:
  • PhD in infectious diseases/sexual and reproductive health/public health/related field.
  • Sound experience in qualitative research methods including but not limited to framework analysis.
  • Passion for infectious diseases, particularly in sexual and reproductive health among vulnerable populations, and health service improvement.
