About the role:

This position focuses on advancing health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through a Primary Health Care Model. As a dedicated professional, you will be working with minimal supervision, providing high-standard care under the delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN). Your goal is to support individual and family needs by collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.

To achieve this, we are seeking a qualified candidate who holds a Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or is working towards it. Experience in hearing health, child and family health, and health promotion would be highly regarded. The selected individual must be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community as per Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).

Key responsibilities include delivering quality healthcare services to children from birth to 12 years and their families. This involves conducting growth and development health assessments, hearing and vision checks, and health education activities. Additionally, you will contribute to health promotion programs and immunisation clinics, working closely with other service providers to ensure comprehensive care.
