About the Role
The Women's Legal Centre ACT (WLC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Family Law Practice. As the Head of Family Law Practice, you will be responsible for developing and delivering on strategy, leading and driving the family law practice area's delivery of services, partnerships, and trauma-informed legal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of family law solicitors to provide expert legal advice and achieve high-impact outcomes for clients.
- Supervise and guide a team of solicitors to deliver services, partnerships, and trauma-informed legal services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the delivery of family law services and achieve high-impact outcomes for clients.
- Manage complex casework, including representation in ACT and Commonwealth courts.
- Represent the Centre in local and national law reform forums.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to advance the Centre's mission and goals.
Requirements
- Eligibility to hold an ACT Unrestricted Practicing Certificate.
- Experience supervising legal practitioners and overseeing complex casework.
- High-level partnership development, community, and stakeholder relations skills.
- Commitment to trauma-informed practice, reflection, and self-care practices.

We are committed to delivering holistic and wrap-around services to clients within a trauma-informed practice model and with a focus on early intervention, early resolution, and the facilitation of women's financial independence and safety.
