We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Solicitor to join our team at the Women's Legal Centre ACT. As a key member of our Mulleun Mura Program, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women on family law matters.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a mixed caseload of family law matters, including litigation
- Provide culturally appropriate legal advice and casework to clients
- Develop and sustain relationships with community and partner organisations and services
- Support the development and strategic direction of the program
- Ensure consistent and reliable data entry and collection
- Maintain and practice a high level of technical competence
- Eligibility to hold or apply for a Restricted Practising Certificate in the ACT
- Experience in family law, with a strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
- Ability to deliver high-quality, accurate legal advice and manage casework
- Capacity to work and build connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Demonstrated personal commitment to reflection and self-care practices
