Job Description:

The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. Its mission is to assist Australians to remember, interpret and understand the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society.

The hospitality offerings include a mix of restaurant, café and events at the venue. This is a unique opportunity for professional chefs to join the kitchen team and to enjoy the fast-paced environment this exciting venue has to offer.

We are looking for chefs who have experience working a la carte, functions and events, delivering good quality and modern innovative food. They must be able to produce quality food, use fresh produce and be creative.

The ideal candidate will have qualifications or equivalent trade experience, HACCP and sound Food Safety knowledge, and be prepared to work across multi-outlets including cafe service and functions/events.

They must also have strong knowledge of fresh local produce and products, immaculate grooming and pride in presentation, and ability to work 5 days across a 7-day operation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to produce quality food, use fresh produce and be creative
