Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement First Nations strategies and enterprise-wide initiatives to close the gap and ensure First Nations people feel represented and supported in our organisation.
  • Lead a small team to deliver on the First Nations Commitment, which includes practical actions for employment, education, health, truth telling, inclusion, economics, and reconciliation.
  • Manage a number of events, support senior leadership champions, and provide secretariat support to the Defence Indigenous Cultural Advisory Group.

Requirements

  • Experience in the delivery of First Nations strategies, projects, and initiatives (or similar).

  • Strategic thinking skills that encompass the ability to conduct environmental scans across the breadth of the landscape and draw relevant conclusions and actions.

  • Highly developed analytical skills to interpret workforce intelligence to develop and apply innovative solutions to complex cultural issues.
