Career Development Specialist
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Career Development Specialist to support individuals with disability, injury or health conditions as they prepare for a meaningful career. This role will guide people through the job-readiness journey - helping them build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their career goals.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Working closely with clients as they plan their next career steps, providing support to find the right job along the way.
- Build strong relationships to understand each client's goals, strengths, and support needs.
- Provide tailored coaching and regular check-ins to maintain motivation and progress.
- Connect participants with upskilling opportunities, hands-on experience, and group-based activities.
- Collaborate with employers and community services to open pathways to employment and training.
- Meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
- Champion our values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred practice.
You bring empathy, energy and a strong drive to make a difference. With experience, or a genuine passion, for employment services. You're confident supporting people, building trust and guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable careers.
Essential Criteria- Qualifications in Employment or Human Services (e.g. Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work) - desirable
- Experience in employment services and supporting people with disability, injury, or health conditions
- Proven ability to meet KPIs and create client-focused employment and skills plans
- Confident in marketing clients to employers and facilitating group programs
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of disability legislation, support strategies, and labour market trends
- Current Driver's License - essential
