Electronic Offender Supervisor

High-risk offender management is a critical aspect of public safety. The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team plays a vital role in supervising offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 residing throughout Queensland.
The HROMU team operates in two regions: Brisbane and Townsville. Their responsibilities include:
- HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, which encompasses the Clinical Support Unit;
- HROMU Operations SEQ, based in Wacol;
- HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville;
- The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and those subject to Parole Supervision.
To be successful in this role, applicants must have experience in supervision and surveillance practices in a human services or related field. They should also possess knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and maturity in conflict resolution are essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit confidence, flexibility, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging with community groups and external service providers;
- Collaborating effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds;
- Monitoring and managing risk associated with high-risk offenders;
- Utilizing computer and keyboard skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Working Conditions:
- Shift work as part of a 24/7 monitoring roster;
- Mandatory shift penalties apply.
