The Electronic Monitoring Surveillance Officer role is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of offenders in the community. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides support and guidance to individuals on parole or subject to electronic monitoring.
The role involves working closely with community groups, external service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective supervision and management of offenders. The Electronic Monitoring Surveillance Officer must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing supervision and monitoring services to offenders in the community
- Working with community groups and external service providers to ensure effective supervision and management of offenders
- Collaborating with other stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives
- Managing and maintaining accurate records and data related to offender supervision
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in supervision and surveillance practices in a human services or related field
- Experience in a criminal justice environment or similar human services/regulatory agency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures related to offender supervision
- Exceptional judgment, initiative, and maturity in conflict resolution

The incumbent will be required to undertake and successfully complete internal pre-service training and associated accreditations, and ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.
Possession of a C Class driver's license is also required.
This position involves shift work as the role supports the 24/7 monitoring of offenders in the community. Shift penalties apply.
