Job Description

As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the environmental sustainability of our operations. You will lead and manage environmental projects, including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.

Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practices. They have excellent interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.

You will work closely with various stakeholders to deliver environmental training and inductions. Additionally, you will maintain the Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  • Lead and manage environmental projects, including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Conduct inspections, investigations, audits, and reporting under relevant environmental frameworks.
  • Analyse and manage environmental data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver environmental training and inductions to various stakeholders.
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental management within heavy industry or port settings.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing environmental aspects such as dust, water, and waste.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports and board papers.
