About this role

We are seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Professional to join our Financial Control team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact on our financial operations.

As a key member of our team, you will lead core accounting processes, uphold compliance with key standards, and ensure strong internal controls. Your expertise will help shape critical business decisions through clear, insightful financial analysis.

This position requires a solid foundation in financial accounting, exceptional analytical thinking, and a knack for supporting small and specialized business units. Experience in a dynamic environment like the energy sector would be highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a financial business partner to small and specialized business units
  • Providing financial insights and support to drive business performance
  • Collaborating with business unit leaders to develop and implement financial strategies
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of monthly financial/management reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Providing detailed financial analysis and commentary to support management decision-making
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and control activities

About the skills and qualifications we need

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CA qualification is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in financial accounting or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable
