We currently have an exciting opportunity for an **Analyst - Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A Analyst) **to join our Rail and Transit Systems team in Melbourne VIC / North Ryde NSW. - **This role will be full-time permanent**

The FP&A Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to support the operating cash flow, capital expenditure processes, annual budgeting/business planning, quarterly forecasts, and month-end deliverables across RTS. This role emphasizes the development of financial models and analytics using both Microsoft Excel and BI tools to identify and manage risks, enhance business performance, and ensure the achievement of financial targets. Reporting to the Senior Manager - FP&A within the RTS Head Office finance team, the analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and reporting that influence and support strategic decision-making.

**Ideally, you will have the following experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent business experience
- Membership with a reputable professional accounting body in Australia
- 5+ years' experience in corporate finance, accounting or business analysis
- In-depth experience in financial modelling, including designing and managing complex models in Excel. Skilled in using large ERP systems, particularly JDEGS and OneStream, as well as Power Query and Power BI.
- Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with senior management and building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to gather, refine, analyse, and interpret large volumes of transactional and balance data to deliver actionable insights.

**About the role**:

- Assist in coordinating the cash and working capital management process across RTS to ensure compliance with and delivery of The Downer Standard requirements.
- Oversee the daily management of the Treasury 12-week rolling cash forecast for the RTS business, ensuring strict adherence to liquidity requirements
- Assist in the annual budget and planning process, contributing to the development and implementation of the strategic plan to support RTS objectives.
- Drive the development and maintenance RTS 3-way financial model as a business planning and scenario analysis tool.
- Be the key analytical support for various RTS projects and Group analysis.
- Collaborate with finance managers across business units to develop and consolidate quarterly forecasts for RTS.
- Analyse deviations between actual results, budget and forecast, identifying root causes and providing commentary for stakeholders
- Enhance efficiency by automating data collection and reporting processes, driving greater financial rigor across RTS
