First Nations Engagement Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of First Nations Engagement Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about building relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders, and contributing to reconciliation efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with First Nations communities in a respectful manner. This includes facilitating partnerships between organizations and Indigenous groups to promote mutual understanding and collaboration.

To achieve this goal, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging with First Nations communities
  • Facilitate partnerships between our organization and Indigenous groups
  • Coordinate events, workshops, and initiatives that support reconciliation efforts
  • Advocate for Indigenous rights within the organization and externally
  • Provide cultural competency training for staff members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Indigenous studies, social work, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar role
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing reconciliation efforts
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to Indigenous rights
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings or events
