Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to support and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in their recovery journey. As the Engagement Worker, you will provide culturally appropriate guidance and support to participants of the Brisbane Recovery Services Centre.

">About The Role

The Engagement Worker plays a vital part in strengthening cultural connection and awareness across services, enhancing the experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples accessing support in QLD. You will develop or source culturally appropriate resources and training materials for staff and clients, facilitate Yarning Circles and Learning Circles, conduct regular reviews of the site environment to ensure cultural safety, work with the clinical team to ensure individual case plans reflect cultural needs, create and implement localised strategies to communicate and embed cultural capability practices, build and maintain partnerships with Indigenous organisations to improve participant access and support pathways, and stay informed on relevant state and national policies affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

">Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop or source culturally appropriate resources and training materials for staff and clients.

  7. Stay informed on relevant state and national policies affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
