About the Role

As the Community Liaison Officer at Woodridge State High School, you will play a vital role in strengthening the connection between the school and its diverse community. You will assist in building strong school community partnerships by providing information, support, and opportunities for shared decision-making that enhance student learning. A key part of your role will be facilitating inclusive, non-threatening communication channels that encourage meaningful two-way dialogue with parents, carers, and the wider school community. Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, you will help analyze current consultative processes and lead the implementation of effective communication strategies, particularly through digital tools, to increase engagement and build trust across our dynamic and multicultural school environment.

Your Responsibilities

As the Community Liaison Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for effective links between home and school related issues, encouraging greater interest and participation in school activities and programs.
  • Facilitating opportunities for raising parental concerns and advocating for equity of service provision.
  • Promoting liaison activities to provide information to parents, the school, and its community, and facilitating community development activities to improve relations between the school and its community.
  • Acting as the contact for parents, carers, and the indigenous community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and its indigenous community.
  • Planning and delivering or organizing public presentations, and informing and educating parents and community members/groups about educational trends and policies.
