Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Client Support Officer to join our Health Services Section. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality administrative support within our health care framework.
Location: Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region
Classification: Administration
Salary: $67,591 - $73,081 per annum
Salary Packaging: Generous package of $15,899.94 p/a
Professional Development: $1,500 p/a allowance
Employment Type: Full Time
Reporting To: Administration Manager
Employment Conditions: Per AHAC Enterprise Agreement
Benefits: Enjoy 6 weeks of annual leave, personal and carer's leave up to 10 days per year, complimentary general dentistry, and a Remote Retention Allowance of $750.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time Client Support Officer within our Health Services Section. You will be responsible for providing culturally sensitive and efficient administrative services to our clients, working closely with the Senior Health Administration Officer to enhance client services and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors, directing them as necessary.
- Prepare patient files for appointments.
- Update patient information and assist with health record systems.
- Triage clients seeking medical assistance.
- Support Aboriginal clients and families in navigating health care systems.
- Manage phone communications, forwarding calls or taking messages.
- Maintain and organize patient records.
- Coordinate transportation for patients as needed.
- Handle fax communications and maintain filing systems.
- Oversee the supply of stationery for staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent as this is an identified position. An Ochre Card (NT Working with Children's card) is required prior to starting this role.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of Aboriginal customs and traditions within the Barkly Region.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Knowledge of health and social issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
- Appreciation for teamwork and collaboration.
- Willingness to learn administrative skills and proficiency in computer applications.
