Research Assistant - Neuroscience and Therapeutics Development
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to our research team in the field of neuroscience and therapeutics development. The successful candidate will provide experimental, technical and administrative support on a range of research activities including assay development, in vitro drug screening, cell culture and microscopy analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide experimental, technical and administrative support on a range of research activities
- Assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of research projects
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize data from various sources
- Develop and maintain accurate records of research activities and results
- Collaborate with researchers and other staff members to achieve project goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with honours or masters equivalent (or higher) in medical science, neuroscience, biochemistry, or related discipline
- Knowledge of lab administration and experimental planning
- Experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, high throughput assay screening, immunocytochemistry, protein extraction, and Western blotting
- Experience with working in a research laboratory and a thorough understanding of laboratory health and safety practices and principles
- Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills to assist in the preparation of research data
- Highly motivated and driven individual who can work well independently, as well as part of a team
