The Intake and Connect Practitioner is a critical role in ensuring a welcoming initial interaction with individuals and families referred to our services. This position plays a pivotal part in assessing trauma recovery needs and allocating clients to suitable interventions.
This position requires compassion, courage, and cultural respect. The successful candidate will be able to engage and empower clients from diverse backgrounds, adapting their practice to suit individual needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Reviewing referrals and conducting brief assessments
- Delivering short-term advocacy and providing psycho-education and brief counseling
- Building partnerships with family members, community members, and other agencies
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Occupational Therapy
- Eligibility for membership of the relevant professional body
- Minimum two years' experience in working within the human services sector, preferably with people from refugee backgrounds
