Job Title: Security Governance Specialist

The Security Governance Specialist plays a pivotal role in advising on security frameworks across various functions, including governance, personnel security, physical security, and project security.

This individual is responsible for identifying work efforts across these areas and providing guidance on the Defence Security Risk Management process.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive security governance framework that encompasses security operations, projects, and governance.
  • Advising on security matters within projects, including existing and emerging threats.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to provide protective security advice, supporting the effective implementation of security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with team members to raise awareness of security threats through briefings and presentations.

The ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of Australian Government and Defence security principles, policy, and controls. They should be passionate about government security, committed to Defence's purpose, and able to demonstrate natural leadership skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.
