Organising Expert Job Opportunity

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Organising Expert to assist industry section directors and organisers in operationalising our strategic plan, focusing on organising workers in priority industry campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement operational organising plans aligned with our industry strategies and campaigns.
  2. Implement and promote effective organising practices, policies, strategies, and systems that contribute to our union's goals, including diversity, inclusive workplaces, addressing discrimination, and barriers to participation.
  3. Support the coordination and management of the national team of organisers.
  4. Contribute to campaign development, reviews, and innovation.
  5. Enhance our union's organising capability and support the development of Organisers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A passion for improving workers' lives and achieving our union's goals.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and educate union members and potential members.
  • Capacity to participate in our union's political and social justice agenda.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience as an Organising Expert is preferred but not essential.
  • Flexibility in work arrangements.
  • Leadership development, including motivating and educating others.
  • Excellent communication, messaging, and rapport-building skills.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience in developing organisational strategy, planning, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate and advocate to all political parties.
  • Willingness to travel within Australia to support relevant duties.
