Technical Support Specialist

We are seeking a motivated individual to support our midwifery academic programs through the delivery of technical services in our simulation and clinical teaching spaces.
This role is essential to creating a safe, realistic, and engaging environment for students as they develop the skills and confidence required for midwifery practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and support to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and facilitate high-fidelity simulated learning for students across the disciplines of Nursing and Midwifery with a particular focus on Midwifery;
- Instruct in the use of simulation equipment and clinical learning facilities and oversee the operation of the technology to ensure safe and effective use of the equipment;
- Train and at times supervise casual team members when required.
You have strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively, whether verbally, in writing, or through active listening.
You thrive both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to adapt to change and new situations with confidence.
With a proactive approach, you can manage high-volume workloads under minimal supervision while applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Midwifery with experience in the provision of a broad range of clinical activities in support of teaching in a health-related discipline;
- A demonstrated commitment to utilising simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform education;
- Ability to acquire knowledge of policies, guidelines and legislation relevant to clinical spaces and technical services including health and safety requirements and experience in performing, documenting and implementing outcomes of risk assessments.
