We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Team Leader to join our team.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners and make a real difference in the lives of people with a disability. You will be responsible for supporting individuals to reduce behaviours of concern, improve wellbeing and quality of life through positive behaviour support strategies and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to NDIS participants in accordance with their individual NDIS plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide and coach practitioners and review positive behaviour support plans with support from your Practice Lead.
  • Encourage a team-oriented approach to evaluation of service delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of your teams' goals and objectives throughout the year and participate in annual performance reviews.
  • Work closely with the team to meet output targets while ensuring best practice and excellent stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop partnerships with service providers, community agencies and government bodies to achieve the best outcomes for participants.
Requirements
  • A completed degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Developmental Education, Counselling or a related field.
  • Experience mentoring behaviour support practitioners and peer reviewing behaviour support plans.
  • An in-depth understanding of good clinical practice, jurisdictional requirements and the context in which behaviour support is provided.
  • Knowledge of contemporary practices and philosophies in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
  • Endorsement as a Proficient or Advanced Practitioner.
  • Strong administration and computer skills, experienced in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
Additional Requirements
  • A right to work in Australia (Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa with permission to work).
  • A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker's Screening Check, or the willingness to gain these clearances if successful.
  • A willingness to undertake a "Fit2Work" Police Check.
  • A current and valid Driver's Licence, and ability to drive to site visits and stakeholder meetings.
