Aerospace Medicine Specialist Role

This role entails providing medical care in extreme environments. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge and skills to manage the physiological responses of individuals exposed to such conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical evaluations and provide care for personnel operating in extreme environments.
  • Determine fitness for duty and evaluate living and working environments to identify potential health hazards.
  • Regularly participate in operations to observe and advise on aeromedical issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive medicine programs, including educating personnel on healthy lifestyles.
  • Establish procedures for managing casualties in emergency situations.
  • Provide guidance on aeromedical evacuation and serve on investigation boards.
  • Serve as a liaison between operational units and medical services.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree with completed residency training.
  • Proficient in adult primary care medicine.
  • Completion of aerospace medicine training.
  • Active medical license in the United States or District of Columbia.
  • Aeronautical rating of Flight Surgeon or higher.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience as a flight surgeon.
  • Board eligible in Aerospace Medicine.
