Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CG Lighting Artist to join our team in Alexandria. As a key member of our lighting department, you will work closely with compositors and creative Leads to achieve the creative brief set out by the VFX Supervisor. Your expertise in Arnold and Katana will be crucial in executing and delivering high-quality visual styles for our productions.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender and Marvel Studios' What If...?. You will be responsible for confidently using tools and software provided, playing a critical role in the execution and delivery of the production's visual style. Your portfolio should showcase mature, graphic stylization of reality, preferably in the vein of Spiderverse, Entergalactic, Arcane, and The Witness [Love, Death, Robots].

Key Responsibilities
  • Lights and renders scenes using Arnold and Katana.
  • Creates a pre-composite tree in Nuke that combines rendered elements.
  • Maintains consistency of lighting across all shots.
  • Optimizes and troubleshoots lighting and rendering problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works closely with compositors to bring shots from lighting through to final while maintaining timing and production quotas given by the production coordinators.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of production experience in 3D animated films and/or animated episodic.
  • Experience with Arnold and Katana.
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work within a team and maintain good team dynamics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to predict potential problems with assigned tasks.
  • Self-management and ability to complete tasks within production deadlines.
  • Strong communication and adaptability skills.
