About Us

Respect Aged Care is a leading provider of high-quality care services for older adults. With a strong commitment to fostering communities of belonging, we strive to give back to our residents and their families through exceptional care and support.

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering safe, competent, and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Services and General Manager, this position requires strong leadership skills to lead and work collaboratively with the clinical nursing team to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing and personal care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in Nursing and Aged Care practice, with a proven track record of providing excellent consumer care. This includes providing direct and indirect clinical care, monitoring, reporting, and risk mitigation for clinical events such as unintentional weight loss, falls, pressure injuries, antipsychotic usage, and behaviors requiring support. The RN will also manage and coordinate all health-related appointments, clinical investigations, and resident reviews, ensuring accurate documentation.

In addition to providing exceptional care, the RN will be responsible for operational leadership, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation. This includes adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, and completing required documentation to support policy and procedure compliance.

Quality Improvement and Risk Management are key aspects of this role, with a focus on maintaining quality systems, including infection control, rotation of stock, safety of hazardous materials, and handling/disposal of medical waste. The RN will also contribute to Root Cause Analysis and Critical Thinking processes, recognizing and responding to SIRS, and assisting with Accreditation requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with Aged Care Accreditation Standards.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills, with well-developed written and oral skills. You will also need to possess developed leadership skills to foster team cohesion and support effective team management. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team environment, approach difficult tasks and sudden changes appropriately, and have a high level of understanding regarding the ANACC funding system.

We offer a competitive salary and entitlements, pay incentives including not-for-profit salary packaging, learning, development, and growth opportunities. If you are a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
