**Role Overview**

The Allied Health Assistant will work closely with Occupational Therapy staff to provide a flexible service that meets each client's therapeutic goals.

The role primarily delivers care in the home-based team and one day per week on the Caulfield Rehabilitation/Aged Care Wards.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing individual and group interventions and therapy programs as delegated by the Occupational Therapist
  • Facilitating group interventions (e.g., upper limb retraining, falls education)
  • Helping patients increase functional abilities in areas such as personal care, meal preparation, and community access
Requirements:
  • Completion of Certificate IV (Allied Health Assistance) or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Higher qualification in a relevant health science discipline at Diploma or Associate Diploma level OR certificate-level qualification in a relevant health-related field
  • Overseas-trained Allied Health practitioner with a Diploma level qualification or higher
  • Allied Health undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of study in a relevant health science discipline
  • Previous employment in an AHA Grade 2 or Grade 3 role (3+ years of clinical experience preferred for Grade 3)
  • Experience in an acute hospital setting and/or rehabilitation
  • Ability to work autonomously within scope of practice and collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health teams
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, planning and time-management skills
  • Driver's licence is essential
