Disability Support Worker

About the Role:

  • As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to people with disabilities in their own homes, community settings, and Shared Independent Living (SIL) houses.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting Clients: Assist clients during morning, afternoon, and night routines, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  2. Household Tasks: Complete household tasks such as cleaning, ironing, and laundry during night shifts.
  3. Teamwork and Flexibility: Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing client needs.
  4. Coverage and Support: Provide coverage for staff who are unable to work, ensuring continuity of care and support for clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the disability sector is highly valued.
  • You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at night time are essential.
  • A current Police check/certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Check are mandatory.
  • First Aid/CPR certificate and manual handling/PEG feeding experience are also required.
  • Bowel therapy experience and hoist experience are highly desirable.
  • A driver's license and own car are necessary for transporting clients.
  • Fluency in Turkish is a requirement.
