Job Title

Support Worker - Disability Services

i-Help Disability Services is committed to providing high-quality supports that reflect evidence-based practices. We are searching for experienced Support Workers who have highly developed communication, interpersonal and manual handling skills.

This role involves providing active supports to people with disabilities, including personal care, meal preparation and social engagement activities. You will be respectful of participants' culture, privacy, and dignity.

We are looking for individuals who can understand the vulnerabilities and needs of people with disability and manage their time effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to people with disabilities in various settings
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and toileting
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to dietary requirements
  • Engaging in social activities and hobbies with participants
  • Managing complex care needs and behaviors

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification or experience in working with clients needing high complex care supports and complex behaviors. A background in nursing may be advantageous.

Requirements
  • Relevant qualification or experience in supporting people with disabilities
  • Ability to understand the vulnerabilities and needs of people with disability
  • Minimum of 3 full business days availability per week
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Experience working with clients needing high complex care supports and complex behaviors
