Are you a seasoned payroll professional with strong analytical and Excel skills, looking to return to the workforce or balance your career with other priorities? At our organization, we're offering a rare opportunity to step into a senior payroll role part-time — three days a week — where your expertise will directly strengthen payroll compliance across our large and growing business, with an employee headcount of over 9,000.

Please note: the role requires availability to work alternating public holidays.

About the Role
  • Ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing across Australia (and support NZ where required).
  • Interpret and apply complex Awards, agreements, and legislation with precision.
  • Lead audit, compliance, and reporting activities to ensure payroll integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging current processes.
  • Support system accuracy and optimisation (Workday).
  • Provide trusted, experienced advice to strengthen payroll processes and compliance maturity.
Your Qualifications
  • 5+ years' payroll experience with a strong focus on Australian payroll processes.
  • Expert award interpretation skills and detailed knowledge of Australian legislation, tax, and super.
  • Compliance and audit focus with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience across payroll systems; Workday highly regarded.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge processes constructively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to share expertise with the wider payroll team.
