Role Overview

As a Community Visitor, you play an integral part in promoting the wellbeing, dignity, safety and rights of clients within mental health and disability services.

You will conduct visits to ensure clients receiving care have adequate information regarding their treatment, care and rights, and are supported to achieve positive outcomes.

In this independent statutory appointment, you will engage with clients and staff to identify areas for service improvement and advocate for the best possible quality of life and care.

Your unique skills and experiences will guide your work as you draw upon your professional and life experiences to deliver on your statutory requirements as a volunteer.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives and promote their wellbeing and rights.

We recommend allowing four hours per visit, including travelling time and time to write the report. You are expected to carry out a minimum of two visits per month.

The appointment period is three years, and opportunities are available in all areas of metropolitan Adelaide, as well as in Berri, Mt Gambier and Whyalla.
