Job Summary

Peter Mac is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Grade 3 clinician. This is a full-time ongoing role that offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical services to patients and families within the clinical service allocation.
  • Coordinate allocated projects, programs, and portfolio responsibilities.
  • Provide professional supervision to social workers and social work students.
  • Represent the department, profession, and as a senior member of Allied Health on internal and external committees.
  • Initiate and implement relevant policies and Quality Improvement Activities.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Substantial postgraduate experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Experience in project and program development.
  • Extensive experience in staff supervision.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of social work theory, practice frameworks, and principles.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams at an advanced level.
  • Highly developed individual, family work, and crisis intervention and care planning skills.
  • The ability to identify, plan, and implement new service strategies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staff and student supervision.
  • Evidence of ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement activities and the ability to participate in them.
  • Evidence of initiation and coordination of quality/research projects.
  • Established computer literacy skills.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working with oncology patients and their families.
  • Postgraduate diploma or degree highly desirable.
