Position Overview:

This role offers a Permanent Full Time or Part Time opportunity, requiring between 64 to 80 hours per fortnight within the Kookaburra, Cancer Care Ward.

We seek Registered Nurses eager to enhance their expertise in pediatric oncology nursing. This position presents an excellent opportunity for nurses looking to transition into a specialized pediatric environment. The Kookaburra ward provides multiple career advancement pathways, including training for chemotherapy accreditation and care delivery for patients undergoing Bone Marrow Transplantation. Ongoing professional development and support will be provided by a dedicated team of nursing, medical, and multidisciplinary professionals.

Compensation for this role ranges from YP3 - YP9, Grade 2 Year 2 to Grade 2 Year 8, with a full-time equivalent base salary between $71,333 and $95,378 annually, plus superannuation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced by a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record or Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP).
  • Recent experience in acute nursing is essential; oncology experience is highly preferred.

About Kookaburra, Cancer Care Ward:

The Kookaburra – Cancer Care Ward is part of The RCH Children's Cancer Centre, which is the largest partner in the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Services (PICS). It is the sole provider of complex pediatric cancer care and stem cell transplantation in Victoria. The multidisciplinary team, comprising specialist medical, nursing, research, and allied health professionals, is dedicated to addressing the clinical, physical, social, and psychological needs of patients and their families.
