A Leadership Role in Underwriting Excellence
The Property and Marine Underwriting Manager is a key leadership position in the Commercial Markets team, responsible for driving top-line growth, ensuring effective collaboration across sales and underwriting, and delivering key OKRs for the Property and Marine squad.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the General Insurance industry. They will be responsible for setting the day-to-day activity and priorities of the squad, defining cultural standards, and providing leadership to state underwriters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite commercial Property and Marine insurance in accordance with Group, ZAIL, and Zurich Australia requirements and financial and operational objectives.
- Lead a team of underwriters in the State to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive top-line growth and ensure effective collaboration across sales and underwriting.
- Collaborate with risk engineering and claims capabilities to ensure a whole of account view.
