About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company is seeking a highly skilled Property and Marine Underwriting Manager to join our Commercial Markets Crew. As a key leader in the team, you will be responsible for driving top-line growth, executing go-to-market and underwriting strategies, and delivering key OKRs for the Property and Marine squad.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of underwriters in State to achieve business outcomes
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to achieve market focus
  • Provide leadership and guidance to state underwriters on complex and highly visible accounts
  • Integrate risk engineering and claims capabilities to ensure a whole-of-account view
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in Financial Markets, Economics, or Financial Management
  • ANZIIF CIP membership or equivalent experience
  • Multiple years of underwriting experience across technical underwriting disciplines
  • Previous people management experience, leading a multi-tiered management environment
  • Commercially astute with a comprehensive understanding of the General Insurance industry and products
  • Proven technical underwriting capability in Property or Marine lines
  • Proven examples of growing a business and delivering change in a complex insurance environment
