At Zurich Insurance Company, we're on a journey towards a brighter future, and we're looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Property and Marine Underwriting Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of underwriters in ensuring effective pipeline activity, top-line growth, and execution of go-to-market and underwriting strategy.
- Define the day-to-day activity and priorities of the squad while setting cultural standards for the team.
- Collaborate with sales and underwriting teams to achieve a strong market focus.
- Provide leadership to state underwriters, engaging in market activities, especially in complex and highly visible accounts.
- Integrate risk engineering and claims capabilities to ensure a whole-of-account view.
- Underwrite commercial Property and Marine insurance in accordance with Group, ZAIL, and Zurich Australia requirements and financial and operational objectives.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Financial Markets, Economics, or Financial Management.
- ANZIIF CIP membership or equivalent experience.
- Multiple years of underwriting experience across various technical underwriting disciplines.
- Previous people management experience, including leading a multi-tiered management environment.
- Commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the General Insurance industry and products.
- Proven technical underwriting capability, ideally in Property or Marine lines.
- Proven examples of growing a business and delivering change in a complex insurance environment.
- Proven ability to execute on strategic plans and company initiatives.
