Job Opportunity:

Clinical Nurse Educator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our multi-disciplinary team. This dynamic role involves providing hands-on support, facilitating staff development, and promoting excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support TRN staff across both rotations with expert clinical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with CNEs to address challenges, communicate concerns, and align goals with ward objectives.
  • Deliver specialty-based education and assist TRNs in building core competencies.
  • Facilitate debriefings for reflection and professional growth.
  • Participate in Clinical Skills Days and liaise with ODaC team to monitor TRN progress.
Clinical Support:
  • Troubleshoot medical devices and provide guidance on new medication implementation.
  • Perform extended competencies and support the implementation of new policies and technologies.
  • Monitor adherence to clinical guidelines and collaborate on risk management initiatives.
  • Promote ongoing staff development in clinical practices and protocols.
Teaching Extended Skills:
  • Teach and assess advanced clinical skills to enhance nursing competency.
  • Provide on-the-job training, demonstrations, and feedback to develop staff proficiency.
  • Provide formal in services to wards.
Clinical Emergency Response (After Hours):
  • Respond to Rapid Responses and Code Blues after hours, providing clinical support and assisting with care escalation.
  • Liaise with the After-Hours Nurse Manager to prioritize hospital needs and ensure proper coordination of care.

The successful candidate will possess a TAFE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or NSLHD's Trainer and assessor series via MHL, along with prior teaching/CNE experience, ALS Accreditation, and the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.

Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in nurse education and clinical practice.
  • Advanced Life Support accreditation.
