Special Needs Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Support Assistant to join our team. As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students with special needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and is committed to delivering high-quality support services. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students, helping them to achieve their full potential.

To be successful in this role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to have a good understanding of the principles of special education and be able to apply these in practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including assistance with learning tasks, behavioral management and personal care.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure that students receive consistent and high-quality support services.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in the student's support plan.
Requirements
  • Degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of the principles of special education.
